Gorgeous Citrine Geode Clusters

Getting it’s name from the Latin ‘caelestis’, meaning “heavenly”; an allusion to its color, celestite or celstine is a very popular mineral because of its typical sky blue or ‘celestial’ color. Often forming beautiful transparent light to medium-blue tabular crystals, celestite can be colorless, white, light red, green, blue, or brown. It is often found in colorful combinations with minerals such as yellow sulphur. Although celestite can look similar to barite, it is actually strontium sulphate, and has long been used as a source of strontium for fireworks, glazes and metal alloys.

It forms in sedimentary rock such as limestones, dolomites, and sandstones. It can also be derived directly from sea water and commonly occurs in evaporate deposits as a minor constituent; occasionally it forms in hydrothermal deposits. The crystals take a wide variety of forms but are typically tablet, prism, or plate shaped. It can also form crusts, nodules, grains and masses. Celestite may also be found in the cavities of fossils. It is known to form, for example, in fossilized ammonites. It can be found in Madagascar, Mexico, Italy, Canada, England, and the US; lesser known specimens have been found in England, Slovakia, Austria, and Germany.

In ancient Greece it was believed that the stone only worked if it had been given to its owner by a friend or relative. It would then protect the body from all kinds of evil. The ancient Romans were also familiar with the healing properties of celestite, its calming, fortifying influence on the mind and its ability to drive evil out of a person. The stone encourages the healing of wounds and is said to be effective in alleviating pain caused by tension, anxiety and in solving problems with insomnia. It is connected to both Capricorn and Gemini star signs.

Celestite is revered for its high frequency and Divine energies, and is known as a powerful healing crystal. Celestite has been called “Heaven’s Stone or Angelic Stone” as it will connect one with the Angelic realms, allowing for the free-flow of these higher frequencies into the Crown and Third-Eye Chakras, and also down into the Throat Chakra for expression. Celestite is also known to bring mental calm and clarity in the midst of any chaotic circumstance.

Using celestite with sincere prayer or meditation one can channel angelic wisdom and communications. Celestite is a great tool for meditation on any subject, bringing in perfect angelic universal energy to the effort. It helps block out distracting "noise" and focus on other planes of existence. From its synergistic energies of the crown and throat chakras, celestite brings balance to thought processes and communication.

Celestite brings a number of positive energies to the emotional realm. It can lend its essence to reduce and eliminate worry, fear and anxiety and bring hope. It is also an excellent tool for emotional protection. In these ways it decreases negativity and negative energy in one's emotional body and life.

Fossilized Treasures from the Deep Ocean

Beautiful treasures of the deep sea from Madagascar.  These ammonites are amazing, rare and highly sought after by collectors.  Some of these have been 'cut-out' along the sutured pattern of the shell, to give it more dimension and style.  Ammonite fossils are very popular and found all over the world.

Ammonites are an extinct subclass of cephalopods, whose present-day descendants include the octopus, squid and nautilus. Ammonites lived from approximately 400 to 65 million years ago (late Cretaceous). Their well-preserved fossilized shells are found today, and are often cut and polished. Small ammonites are often used in jewelry designs, while large pieces are highly prized by collectors and also as display keepsakes.

Traditional properties of ammonite include stimulus to architects and those in the fields of construction. It provides for insight to the basis from which to start and allows one to retain the “whole picture” from conception to use. Ammonite is a protective, giving stability and structure to one’s life. It can eliminate the caustic attributes and can transform negativity into a smooth, flowing energy.

Chic Funky Shiny Splash Copper

It's shiny and it's chic and a classy addition to any office or home.  Splash copper is fast becoming one of the most sought after for unusual home and office decor.  Browse our copper collection at our Etsy shop!

Native copper is used to make these artistic free-form sculptures. No two are alike and the shapes are open to many different interpretations. Splash copper is made by pouring molten copper at 2200 degrees F onto a flat surface. When the shapes are cooled, a green or turquoise-colored chemical patina is applied, and then highlights are buff polished to expose the glowing solid copper underneath.

The sculptures are sprayed to preserve the finish and to prevent the copper from tarnishing. Copper is a basic element (Cu) and is the 8th most abundant metal in the Earth’s crust. It occurs as a native metal and in a some 160 compounds, such as azurite, malachite, chrysocolla, and chalcopyrite, not to mention its alloys, bronze (an alloy of tin and copper); and brass (an alloy of zinc and copper).
Metaphysical Lore:
Copper is considered a mineral of energy and mental agility. In legend, copper is said to be the metal of the God Hermes, who facilitates that mental agility, and quick wit. Copper is also an excellent conductor of energy, from electricity to the mystical subtle energies emanating from higher planes, etc. Thus, copper is said to enhance and transmit thoughts, even over long distances. Copper is known as the lucky metal too, as well as the healing metal. It is the conductor of the spiritualist’s belief system. Copper conducts spiritual energy back and forth between individuals, crystals, auras, the mind and the spirit world. It is linked with the Divine and attributes to the Queen of Heaven. Any stone with Copper, in or around it, is said to have enhanced properties and is said to be good for the heart and root Chakras.
