Redesign of Simple to Non-Symmetrical Hit

This design was originally very simple and just had the white Magnesite and Bronzite. It got some attention, but didn't really have any life or color or that right ‘pop’; so it finally got a new look and this time, it hit the mark.

Shades of brown, turquoise, white and a hint of gold, all rolled into this non-symmetrical design. A crescent Turquoise pendant and pillow teardrops have a brown matrix is the start, surrounded by Bronzite coins, goldtone caged white Magnesite nuggets with a deep brown matrix Magnesite and all accented with light gold glass seed beads. It’s meant to be worn long or short using the extender and a matching pair of earrings in Bronzite, Magnesite and Turquoise complete the look.

Bronzite: Inner peace, removes stress, protects against depressive moods, inspires courtesy, courage, acceptance and assistance.
Magnesite: Awakens the higher sensibilities, opening to inner vision, truth and bliss, listening to the heart.

Russian Lace Agate Design

I had this Russian Lace Agate for a while and just needed the right combination of stones to set it off. I think I found it in this beauty. This stunner in Russian Lace Agate cut on the diamond and accenting a nice deep brown Sardonyx Agate, nestled between faceted Smoky Quartz and silver spacers; wear it long with extender or short style and matching dangle hook earrings.

Natural Stone Pendants Wired

I’ve spent time wiring some natural stone pendants and included earrings with some of them; something new I’m trying this fall with the pendant line. With these, I’ve wire wrapped them using non-tarnish silver, bronze, brass or copper wire. I just received more exotic and unusual stones, so keep checking back as I get them done, either posted here or on our website.

Leftover Turquoise Pieces

Every wonder what happens to the leftover Turquoise pieces; left on the floors and scattered around many mining and cutting lapidary company….maybe the answer is in this strand of Turquoise disks. A mix and maze of different Turquoise pieces ranging in color from blue to green and beautifully matrixes in brown, black, rust, cream, yellow, and even green and blue. The disks are cut in a rough hex, stabilized and graduated to form stunning bead structures.

This design takes that stunning mixture and highlights it with Onyx, sterling silver spacers and toggle; mounds of Turquoise in dangle hoops can be worn with the necklace or accented with other pieces.

Shades of Natures Fall

The beginning of Fall for most people is Labor Day weekend; it signals the end of Summer, vacations and the beginning of school, work and the holidays and cooler weather. This year’s color combinations are a range that reflects the shades of Fall; brown, rust, cream, green, purple, red, orange and the staples of black and white. Hot Jewelry Trends Fall/Winter 2009

It’s that time to take a breath after the hot long summer and look toward the nice cooler fall and winter seasons. Depending on where you are, the forecast for hot jewelry trends this Fall/Winter are all about natural stones, natures finest is being put out on display and she is giving us some really unique and interesting materials to work with as jewelry artists. So after endless browsing the net, here’s what I’ve seen…again, depending on where you live and what your style is, these may or may not be your ‘cup of tea’.


Natural Stones and lots of them are the hottest trend this coming season. Look for natural gemstones such as jade and turquoise to be the biggest hits along with wood, bone, and freshwater pearls to accent or mix and match. Any of these stones are perfect for incorporating into dramatic statement necklaces to wear this fall.

Bracelets are again mentioned as the big thing this year. Bracelets are more of an accessory to the whole outfit look, especially in bold cuffs or stretch multi-layer strands. Cuffs will be adorned with jewels and stones alike, bring that bit of ‘bling’ on a budget to the jewelry world.
Pendants are still in, so dig them out if you got’em. From bold to dramatic, many with multi-strand necklaces, layered with singled chains or worn with omegas, collars, or ribbon cords (all the rage again this year too); chose from designs in Swarovski crystals, natural stones, raw clusters of natural stones, or mounted in different metals from Sterling Silver to Copper.

Necklaces as always ‘make or brake’ the whole outfit and this year they are not exception to that finished look. Chose from bold, exotic trendy chunky or give a little attitude with multi-strand or layers of several different styles together. Make sure to top if off with either long single earrings or multi-layer chandeliers.

As a recap, jewelry will remain an important accent to the wardrobe this year for woman. The accent though will be less ‘bling’ and more of an edge, trendy self designing style. From bold cuffs to large pendants, big hoops, and any style of necklaces; it’s a woman’s game out there. Almost anything goes this Fall/Winter as women try to define their own style rather than copy someone else’s of the mass production lines of the past. This will make fashion fun again and women will embrace the opportunity to establish themselves in the forefront.
