Wired Ceramic Crystal Clusters

This intriguing design is a mix of several different techniques. The first is the focal gray ceramic beads are wired with non-tarnish silver swirl accents; I did this to accent not only the bead to also play hide-n-seek with the black splattering on each bead and the fun part is the beads twist on the wire so you could wear some showing wire and some not or none at all!

Then I strung the design on double strands so the crystal clusters are more of a flowing cluster rather than heavily gathered, an interesting tid-bit about these crystals, some of them have been heat treated and will color change slightly when refracting different light. And finally, the earrings style I get asked to design, the long cluster charms.

Color Change Swarovski Crystals

Swarovski crystals come in some of most incredible colors and one of my favorites is the Swarovski Cantaloupe color because it is a color changes crystals. By this, I mean it actual will change colors from a lovely light lime green or peridot to calming shade of lilac or purple.

In this design, I’ve paired the faceted bicone cantaloupe crystal with flat rondelles in black Jet and antique gold fancy spacers. The highlight is a beautiful highly polished triangular shaped Indonesian Fossil Coral pendant. I’ve handcrafted the bail out of gunmetal and brass non-tarnish wire.

Coral: Diplomacy, quieting emotions, visualization.

Crystal & Stone Bling

Mystical, charming, stylish and a little flirty describe these new creations in crystals and natural stones. A little out-side-the-box for this designer, we paired a lot of faceted charmed crystals with complimenting pendants, stones and metals to give them all different looks for any personality. We’re working on a few more designs in these styles, so keep checking here and the website for their debut!

Custom Design Bling

The request from a customer came to mix a lot of crystals with bronzite and a pendant. Needless to say, it’s been a challenge, but then I love a good challenge! The customer had a good idea of what kind of set she wanted, just left it up to me to “Create something like you always do, just make sure it has lots of bling”, she said. Working to get the right mix of stones and crystals together, the hardest part was trying to find a pendant. First, I was trying to find a bronzite pendant to accent the entire piece, but I just couldn’t quite come across the right cut that looked good with the piece (though I get one from the resident gemologist, but I have other ideas for that one!).

What I did finally come across was the Ocos Agates I’ve been working with and the sparkling color mix on this one just struck me to mix with the necklace. So I laid it all out, included a lot of faceted crystals for a good amount of ‘bling effect’; the golden topaz brings out the gold flakes in the bronzite and the amethyst crystals bring out the brilliant pink/purple colors within the Ocos Agate, just accenting the druzy crystals, and handcrafted the agate with artistic non-tarnish brass wire. I added a touch of gold open spacers; fancy gold toggle and small accent dangle earrings, at her request, to complete the entire set.

The result is this uniquely handcraft custom bling, “Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking”, she says; onto her next request, long and simple with a splash of gold and multi-color crystal bling. Like I said, I love a good challenge!

Twist of a Bracelet

This is a new technique for me using my twisting coil wire and adding beads. I saw this technique a few months back and have been working to get the right beads and gauge wire to work and still be flexible enough to wear, but not break the wire. I kept going back to the original lessons until I finally got it right (practice makes perfect!).

These bracelets are a done with artistic non-tarnish wire; one in silver and one in bronze. I’ve beaded the wire with glass dipped pearls and finished with coordinating accents. One is done in Turquoise with fine black webbing; accented with Onyx and a silver toned toggle. The second is a beauty in peach/campaign glass dipped pearls and then finished with light topaz crystals and a gold toned magnetic toggle.

These would make lovely Easter and Mother’s Day gifts! Visit Timeless Designs for these and other gemstone, dichroic and crystal jewelry.
