In Tucson I found these amazing
drusy pendants in black amethyst and lavender drusy quartz minerals.
They are so incredible, the drusy just sparkles and they very lovely
done in various wired colors. I have hand wire wrapped a few of
them; a couple have been left as an individual pendant to wear on
different types of collars, cords or chains and the a few others have
been incorporated into necklace sets.
Amethyst is a type of quartz that has taken on a violet or purple coloration due to trace impurities of iron and aluminum. The exact hue and depth varies depending on its source. It can be found in many parts of the world, the best quality specimens tend to come from Uruguay, Brazil, or southern Africa. It is often found lining the insides of geodes, especially those composed of agate; these are hollow, often spherical rock structures.
These pendants are black amethyst from Uruguay, hand wired in non-tarnish silver wire. Their colors vary, from deep black to a mix of black and purple; the crystals really sparkle in the sunlight.
